My February Vacation! Part V

The day in Porto Venere. I was staying in Monterossa, and I took the train to La Spezia, and then a bus to Porto Venere. It's right by the ocean, and it's claim to fame is that 200 years ago, Lord Byron, the poet, wrote a lot of poems in what's known as Byron's Cave (pictured in the second row, first photo - there are steps down to the ocean. The story goes that he sat and watched the ocean and wrote romantic poems. Although captivating, I didn't feel inspired to write poetry and it was a little chilly, but it was exciting to be by the sea among buildings and structures that were hundreds of years old and still beautiful. There was a black and white fountain, a black and white church.
